"Wifi connection with vmedia-Never book with them"
I booked a new home wifi connection with media on 24th April 2023 and they promised that it will be installed on 29th April 2023. On the 29th, I received an email that the installation date is rescheduled to the 8th of May. When I called, they stated that they do not have a technician now. On 8th May I received another email stating that installation is rescheduled to 13th May. In the meantime, they also charged my card a monthly fee of $57 which was later waived off after calling them. But till today my wifi not been installed and they have been dragging the installation date. I work from home and it has been difficult to work on mobile data. Further, the customer care people are so rude and inefficient coz they blame their outsourcing installation team and say that it is not in their hands. So, please never book any connection with them. Go with any other network provider.

"Look for another provider"
I have their phone service, for now, but will be looking for somewhere else to deal with. I bought the adapter, but can't do anything with it except plug it in, and then look at it.They thought changing the password would be a good idea. It's like buying a car or house and not getting the keys. So, people have to call them for changes to the adapter. Customers also have to call them to have voicemail enabled. That should be on by default.
When I find a new place, for a better price, I sprout wings and fly away.

"great customer service! Highly recommended"
great customer service. Never over charged.
My apartment with Netflix streaming/downloading speed was great and paid $50 per month. I rented the modem. When I had to cancel my services because I was moving there was no cancellation fees infact they REFUNDED me after charging me the first of the month and put the prorated amount back to my card. And sent me a free Canada post return label for my rental modem. Easy hassle free and fast customer service. Will use again!

"Stay away they are scammers...They take…"
Stay away they are scammers...They take your credit card information charge it and then don't provide the services they claimed they could. After a week of being told "don't worry and I'm sorry" they turned around and said they don't even provide services at my location.

"I wasn’t given an option for no…"
I wasn’t given an option for no stars!!! DO NOT go with this company!
They are the WORST!
The internet speed is awful, the connection is terrible and cuts out for at least 3-6 min each and everyday MULTIPLE times.
I have had assignments not send through by deadline. I have had many quizzes that cut out mid way through.
I spend at least 1-3 hours on the phone with the customer service agents who literally follow steps from a screen and do not know what they are doing.
The one and only thing this company is good at doing is taking your money each and every month. It is the ONLY service they have no issues with Hahaha!
Do not waste your time, money or life on this company. It will cause you way more stress and inconvenience than anything else.

"Fraudulent thieves"
Okay so at first the speed seemed pretty good but after a week I started to get interruptions in service every single day. Called them again and again for technical support but only got me to do a power restart. Then they sent technician couldn’t find anything couldn’t identify the problem. Them when I tried to quit they offered me a month free but when it continued to get service interruptions I decided to quit so they took back there free month and charged me the month that was supposed to be free. Less than 30 days later I tried to open the delivery label so I can send their stuff back it was expired like wow. Now they charge me over $255 at the end of the month when I have to pay rent thanks a lot VMedia. Oh and after I called them asking for a refund because they sent me an expired label they just kept reading from their little book we already sent you a working label. Listen anybody who’s looking for service stay far far away from this amateur service they’re absolutely not worth the money and absolutely not worth the stress because they will try to damage you anyway they can.

Reason is here
Subscribed to DSL internet service one year back after they checked that service is available in your building. I opted for 15MB/sec plan and few weeks back I realized that the internet speed is too slow. Talked to the customer care ppl and they troubleshooted the network and modem for hours and results were I was getting 3-6MB/sec speed. They contacted their vendor Bell who provide the service to VMedia consumers in HRM with this problem and then I was informed that Bell is saying your modem is faulty. We are sending you a new modem from here but will charge you $114 until we get the faulty modem back from you. I agreed to pay and today modem arrived (box was damaged and clearly it was used modem), anyway called them and got a technical person from VMedia on phone.. He helped me setting up the new modem but speed didn't improve. Then they again contacted the BELL technical team and came back to me saying "you DSL line only supports up to 8MB/sec" so 15MB/sec is worthless please downgrade your plan to 6MB/sec.
I was like - are you kidding me???? You are using BELL DSL lines and their technical team for setting up the modem and lines and you still don't have information that what is the max speed those lines can handle??? when you checked the service availability for my place you didn't have this information that the lines are only supporting max 8MB/sec and you still sold me 15MB/sec plan - ripped me off for one year and a month. The reply was we don't know what is the speed handling limits of the line BELL lays - we are extremely sorry for this inconvenience. When I asked for the compensation their counter offer to me was if I will switch to cable connection they will waive off my 50% fee installation fee on that which is just $57.

Such a disgusting service.

"Worst company ever"
I wish I could give this company zero stars because of how much this company is garbage. Lost all services (tv and internet) Feb. 10 called in to have them get this issue resolved (I work for a different call Center so I know all the steps needed to be done before reaching out to the tech team and I did everything possible to get it fixed but nothing worked) the agent I spoke to had me redo all the troubleshooting, even though I told him I had just done what he was asking me to do (but I was wanting to get my services working so I was more then willing to try anything at this point), we’ll surprise surprise it didn’t fix the issue. Was told that there wasn’t anything else we could do so they would get a tier 2 agent to call me back. Sat and waited and didn’t get a call back. So next day I called back and had them tell me I had to do all the troubleshooting yet again. At this point I had noticed that the modem was not working like it should and told the agent that no matter what I do it won’t fix the issue and asked to have a tech come out and she told me she wasn’t able to do that and kept trying to push me to do the same troubleshooting I have done numerous times by this point. Ended up hanging up on the agent due to her rudeness. My dad then called them back and they had him do the troubleshooting yet again (which he did) and still had the same results, no service. So he asked to have a tech come out and they still told him they were unable to do that. But they would reach out to Cogeco to have them run tests and they would get back to him. He waited all day until 845pm (15 mins before they close) and tell us that cogeco finally got back to them and that they see the modem is defective. Asked tech agent what do I do and he says to speak to customer care and tell them to send a new modem to me since the one I have is defective. He transferred me to customer care and this is where more arguing commenses. She tells me they are able to send me a new modem but I have to pay first. Explained to her I wasn’t told it would cost me anything and that I was told to just tell them to send me a new modem, nothing about any money being paid out to get one sent to me (just paid my bill on the 1st of over $200 and haven’t barely been able to use my services and they want me to pay out more money to them. Ummm no that not happening). Argued with the agent for about 20 mins and in that time was put on hold a few times while she spoke to her “manager”. At the end got so fed up with her that I asked to speak to her supervisor and was told that she wasn’t there and I would have to wait until Monday and to call back to see about speaking to someone then. So haven’t had any services since Friday and here we are Monday and still nothing. This company is a huge joke and they are only in it for the almighty dollar.

"I took the risk."
I had been very happy with FIDO until a few weeks ago for the download speed of 75mbps. The FIDO cable internet service was so satisfactory that if it wasn't the increased monthly price I would've remained with FIDO permanently. But the inflation on everything nowadays forced me to cut down on my budget where I can. So I had been ardently searching & comparing the prices of TekSavvy, Oxio, VMEDIA etc. as a viable affordability. When I was looking at VMEDIA because of the friendly price of about $34/month for the download speed of 30mbps, I was not so sure about this company that has too many bad reviews. But I took the risk, albeit with great hesitancy and distrust, and went ahead and bought my own router, Google Mesh WIFI router. Modem was provided free by VMEDIA. (I highly recommend Google wifi router.)
For the last 2~3 weeks, I am immensely happy that I took the risk and that I am now only paying $39.49 (including the tax) while the download speed of 30mbps feels as sufficient as the FIDO's 75mbps without any glitch, hitch or drops.
Streaming Netflix, watching YouTube were just as good as before. btw. I opted for the cable option but if I went with the ethernet option then it would turn out to be a very different story and I would be writing a very bad review. My area is more accommodating to the cable line than the ethernet. If I got a reputable Bell internet (with exorbitant monthly price), I would still be experiencing very bad internet connection due to my area not accommodating to the ethernet lines. Give this company VMEDIA some time for growth and improvement. then I am sure that they would eventually match the quality of the bigger companies. Just as FREEDOM mobile used to be bad in certain areas for the phone service but now their high quality is outstanding, and they are formidable in defending and maintaining the low price on their mobile phone service, I am sure that the VMEDIA would improve as time goes by. I sincerely hope that VMEDIA would continue to champion the cause for affordability of the internet service for many financially struggling Canadians.

"Bad service!"
I have been with them basically one day. They told us they would have people come to the house to set up. No one showed up. When we called them. They told us we have to set up over the phone during the time slot. Three of us were on the phone that first night. The man on the phone did not say that! He was nice and personable ill give him that. The net has cut out twice within only hours of having it.

"This is the worst experience I have…"
This is the worst experience I have ever had with a company. I argued with this company for months about my services not working and had to take multiple days off work. They promised that I would get a certain speed, but i never once attained the speed or even close to the speed (I had intermitent connection and slow wifi- hardwired and non-hardwired). I argued with customer service, the tech team, and the billing department that my services were not working and but they refused to believe me and required me to do a million speed tests even though it was clearly not going to be a faster speed after the first 50 times.

The worst part about the problem was that when you call customer support, technical support, or the billing department they just re-route you a million times and place you on hold because they need to talk to a "manager", you will spend hours on hold with them while they talk to there "manager" so they can beat around the bush and blame you for the problem while they waste your time. I spent multiple five hour days on the phone will them. Furthermore, the customer car, billing, and tech team are extremely rude and when you ask to speak to the manager they wont even give you a manager...I have never experienced customer service and car like this, it is disgusting.

"Wat a nightmare deal with vmedia"
The staff is so incompetent of dealin with any issues, and there Billing dept is a nightmare, I have to call twice a mnth to deal with my changing bills! Not to mention they went into my bank account with no reason or any bill that was sent to me saying they were taking money! Everytime I pay my bill I tell them specifically I do not want them entering my bank account thats why I phone in every mnth to pay my bill! This company is ridiclous. There staff is rude and hard to understand there English. It's a fight with the staff to speak to a manager! Then it takes a Manger 2 days to get back to you'll! I'll be changing service providers!

"Nightmare service. Avoid and spread the word."
Nightmare service.
Atrociously disrespectful, gaslighting employees.
Cancelled the day of equipment arrival.
I ordered and was sold a technician appointment specifically due to the tech at my location.
This was followed with an email stating I confirmed remote installation. After I booked off work.
I didn't confirm remote installation.

Spent hours on phone/email warning them it would be an issue in advance. It was an issue.
No service available day of router arrival/remote activation.

They also leave out coaxial cable.
Coaxial cable which is step one for their installation manual.
Ask me to buy it ($20 locally or $10 + ship) for a maximum $10 reimbursement.

On phone I am gaslit with the paradox that it is my fault for not asking them to send out the coaxial cable when I ordered - but also that they do not have coaxial cables to send me if they wanted to. No cable that's step 1 in your primary product and you don't tell people in advance? Yeah right.

No refund for wasted time, headache, buying wifi router I didn't need for service I didn't get due to the worlds worst group of 3rd party tech support.

While being offered 2 free months I had to cancel.
No discount would be worth paying for if I have to deal with this torture at any point for any length of time in the future.

Was told no fees for cancellation, almost letting the guy off the phone before I'm faced with email asking for 25$ restocking fee. Never mentioned on rental/purchase on phone, and not even mentioned on cancellation on phone. The sleaziness of the employees is morbid and offensive.

Did all the due diligence to warn them they would screw up. And they still screwed up. And then some.

***Still haven't refunded my service fee after cancellation 4 hours later - will update pending ***

***Will update if my restocking fee is waived - as the last (frankly manipulative) service member I spoke to told me it would be waived - but couldn't put it into writing***

Currently shorted money and I fear that will be the case whether or not I again brave the hell that is VMedias 3rd party cx service office.

Disgusted and exhausted. Try them out if you hate your time and money.
